FAIRY GARDEN

Anyone who has seen my yard knows I LOVE gardening. I consider it another art form and each year I can wait to get going. This year I spent a lot of time on my fairy garden. The plants are miniatures, I made the white picket fences and the "fairies only" sign. The fairy house was a gift from Steve and was the perfect finishing touch!

LADYBUG SOFTIE

Here is a photo of the Ladybug I made while in LA. It has a corduroy body and felt wings. I drew my own pattern and made it up as I went along. Lorraine gave me some great lessons on getting the stuffing just right. So much fun!

HOME AGAIN

I am back home again after a wonderful trip to see Penny in LA. We had such a great time. I am glad that I was able to show photos of both of her cats. They are the best pets ever and I already miss them! I have more Zentangles and my Ladybug doll to photograph and put on my next post.

LORRAINE'S DOLL

Here is the beautiful pirate doll made by Lorraine. She is photographed with Penny's cat J.J. He doesn't like having his photo taken but he looks like pretty happy with this doll. She has "Bad Girl" written on her back and has been growling as I sit and type my post.

Lorraine's jewelry

Lorraine brought Penny and I each a necklace. This is a photo of the one she brought for me. She is a very talented artist.

LORRAINE MAKES HER MONSTER!

Lorraine made a girl monster to go with our boys. We took the group out to a restaurant for lunch and to a small art museum. As you can see one of the boy monsters was a little bit shy. Yesterday I made a stuffed Lady Bug. It was a lot of work but turned out great! I am now working on a painting of "Dorothy" from the Wizard of OZ! I have just loved my week of making art. Kim

Today Lorraine (center), Penny and I went to Little Tokyo. I bought a Japanese "Kim" doll, some chop sticks for AJ, etc. What a fun day in LA!

Here is my first attempt at painting a Westie. Lorraine is creating a girl monster to go with our boys. Her photo should be up sometime tonight. We visited the fabric district today and bought fabric for more dolls. It was amazing to see blocks and blocks of trim, fabric, etc. We will be working late into the night.

LORRAINE ARRIVES!

Lorraine has arrived in LA and is joining our art party. The Westie painting is almost done and I will post it tonight. My project for today might be another painting. After Starbuck's we are planning a trip to Little Tokyo! I will post photos later.
